Do I need an architect or a geometra? What is the difference?
These are the questions my clients keep asking....let’s try to provide a simple, concise answer:
You can become a geometra at the age of 18, at the end of secondary school, with no higher qualification -
to become an architect you need to have attended University, after secondary school, for at least 5 years.
To give a better explanation I could use a simile in the ambit of medicine: if the architect is a doctor, the geometra is a nurse.
In most cases the “wounded” houses we wish to restore require the equivalent of open-heart surgery:
would you refer to a nurse for this kind of operation?
The architect makes architecture, the geometra doesn’t.
